چکیده
Ambient isotopic approximations are fundamental for correct representation of the embedding of geometric objects in R, with a detailed geometric construction given here. Using that geometry, an algorithm is presented for efficient update of these isotopic approximations for dynamic visualization with a molecular simulation. 1 Approximation and Topology for Visualization Figure 1(a) depicts a knot and Figure 1(b) shows a visually similar protein model. prompting two criteria for efficient algorithms for visualization:

Four dimensions from two in symplectic topology
This paper introduces two-dimensional diagrams that are slight generalizations of moment map images for toric four-manifolds and catalogs techniques for reading topological and symplectic properties of a symplectic four-manifold from these diagrams. The paper offers a purely topological approach to toric manifolds as well as methods for visualizing other manifolds, including the K3 surface, and...
متن کاملA Geometry Preserving Kernel over Riemannian Manifolds
Abstract- Kernel trick and projection to tangent spaces are two choices for linearizing the data points lying on Riemannian manifolds. These approaches are used to provide the prerequisites for applying standard machine learning methods on Riemannian manifolds. Classical kernels implicitly project data to high dimensional feature space without considering the intrinsic geometry of data points. ...
متن کاملApplications of minimal surfaces to the topology of three-manifolds
In this paper, I will mention some applications of minimal surfaces to the geometry and topology of three-manifolds that I discussed in my lecture at the Current Developments in Mathematics Conference for 2004. The first important application of minimal surfaces to the geometry of three-manifolds was given by Schoen and Yau [22] in their study of Riemannian three-manifolds of positive scalar cu...
متن کاملHomology manifolds
The study of the local-global geometric topology of homology manifolds has a long history. Homology manifolds were introduced in the 1930s in attempts to identify local homological properties that implied the duality theorems satisfied by manifolds [23, 56]. Bing’s work on decomposition space theory opened new perspectives. He constructed important examples of 3-dimensional homology manifolds w...
متن کاملIntroduction to Transformation Groups
These are the notes from a course that was an introduction to the theory of finite (or compact) transformation groups, including basic definitions and facts, standard examples, algebraic restrictions, fundamental constructions, all with an emphasis on group actions on manifolds in lowdimensional geometric topology. There is a focus on problems and results that have interesting versions in low d...
